GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Summary:  Under the general direction and supervision of the Regional Clinical Director (or designee), the Crisis Supervisor conducts supervisory, management and administrative functions for the crisis team(s) as well as their respective site.  This individual is a member of the Clinical Team and has responsibility for effective and efficient operations of their assigned area(s).    This position has responsibility for overseeing the crisis team, attending community meetings, BHP Review, Direct care, hiring and clinical training.  The Crisis Supervisor works with the Crisis team, as well as staff within the assigned area to ensure that clinical quality is maintained.  He or she will interact with outside community entities and create strong professional relationships.  The Crisis Supervisor may be assigned to serve on special committees and conduct various meetings as necessary.  This person is required to be familiar with, abide by, and enforce all AHCCCS, RBHA, Health Plan, and company regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversees and offers support to the crisis team on a 24-7 basis. 
  2. Develops and implement the Crisis Team Schedule, assuring 24-7 coverage
  3. Reviews BHP documents for Crisis Team and site/assigned area.
  4. Develops and implements clinical trainings based on BHP findings.
  5. Direct care, as assigned
  6. Makes independently appropriate, sound, critical decisions under extreme stress and in emergency situations. Informs Regional Director and Regional Clinical Director of Sentinel Events occurring within the Company.
  7. Attends regular meetings and maintains a close working relationship with the Regional Clinical Director as well as other administrative personnel.
  8. Attends community meetings and fosters a positive working relationship with stakeholders.
  9. Completes deliverables, as assigned
  10. Supports and assists staff in developing, maintaining and monitoring compliance with AHCCCS requirements and other regulatory entities.
  11. Maintains appropriate working relationships with representatives of provider agencies, funding sources, advocacy groups and State and County governmental representatives.
  12. Participates in selected committees for community-based planning purposes and internal agency work groups.
  13. Interviews and recommends applicants for employment, assigns duties and responsibilities, and provides orientation and training to subordinate employees.
  14. Establishes performance and accountability standards for subordinate employees, monitors their performance in meeting applicable standards, productivity and schedules.  Conducts performance evaluations and when necessary performance improvement interventions.
  15. Provides training, coaching, mentoring and encouragement for optimal staff development.
  16. Responsible for following any policies, procedures, and controls established by the organization, around the protection and use of PHI. 

Skills/Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education –Master’s Degree preferred in a behavioral/health care related field; Bachelors can be considered with at least 5 years or more experience
  • Experience –2 years of management experience in a behavioral health/managed care setting ; crisis supervision experience preferred
  • Certification –Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners independent licensure preferred
  • Regulatory-
    • o    Minimum 21 years of age
    • o    Fingerprint Clearance
    • o    CPI certification (Employer provides)
