The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations and diagnosing patients. The PMHNP guides patients on their journey to mental wellness by interviewing, screening, and assessing rick factors for mental illness and broader wellness evaluations. The PMHNP will provide a ranges of therapies including individual, group, or family counseling sessions. The PMHNP will write prescriptions for psychotropic medication under the supervision of psychiatrists and when state regulations allow.
Master’s degree in Nursing. Three (3) years’ experience providing outpatient services to an adult and/or child population with chronic mental illness. Current Arizona RN license. Must be licensed as a Psychiatric/Mental Health APRN or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Specialist – Board Certified (PMHCNS-BC). The preferred candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
